The Guangzhou International Award for Urban Innovation (the Guangzhou Award), co-hosted by UCLG, Metropolis, and the city of Guangzhou, aims to recognize innovation in improving social, economic and environmental sustainability in cities and regions and, in so doing, to advance the prosperity and quality of life of their citizens.

The 3rd Guangzhou Award has attracted 171 cities displaying 301 initiatives approved by the Technical Committee. The committee’s 11 experts, from countries such as China, Spain and Germany, selected a shortlist of 15 cities at a conference held in Bogota, Columbia, from Oct 11 to 14. The Jury will review and select five Guangzhou Award winners from the 15 shortlisted cities at the 2016 Guangzhou International Urban Innovation Conference and Guangzhou International Innovation Festival to be held in Guangzhou in December.

The Organising Committee of the Guangzhou Award invites you to vote for your favorite city in "Online Popular City" and to have a chance to win a special prize.

Voting methods:
1. Participants can take part in voting and raffling via two platforms: the official website of the Guangzhou Award (http://www.guangzhouaward.org/) or the Facebook page.

Voting will close on 5 December, 2016. The city with the most votes will be the winner of “The Online Popular City”. The winner of “The Online Popular City” will be announced at the award ceremony of the 3rd Guangzhou Award held in Guangzhou on 7 December, 2016.
