China and India are two countries; the world is looking at with amazement. I couldn't be more fortunate to have been borne in one (India) and have had an opportunity to stay in the Other (China) for such a long time. I am very thankful to my present Company Shalina Laboratories to give me an opportunity to work as the Business Manager for their Representative Office in China. This gave me a good opportunity to understand and learn so much about this country.Think of China and one starts thinking about a culture with 1000s years of history, the dynasties, cultural revolution, religion, festivals, food, kungfu, herbal medicines, Chinese economy, world factory, next super power¡¡etc But to me the most important, beautiful and the best thing about China is the people here. There is nothing in China that can match the kindness and patience of the people of China. It is the people of China that make China what it is today. I was very scared when I first arrived in China in March 2005. I had heard about the language problem, but when I came here, I was shocked and scared; I did not know any one and had no friends here. Had it not been for some good people whom I met during those initial 2-3 months in China, I would not have been here for so long. The kindness and patience is evident from the very first step you put on this land, be it the taxi drivers, be it the hotel staff or be it any sales persons at the supermarkets. They are all ready to help. There are so many touching incidents that I have experienced in the past two and half years that it is difficult to cover on this page. It is a joy to be in a country which is holding the Olympics and most importantly because it reminds me so much of my own country. I take the same pride for Beijing Olympics that I would feel if there would be a Delhi Olympics (hopefully soon). By holding Beijing Olympics, China has strongly proved that ¡°NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE¡± and hence I would consider it an honor to be an Olympic Torchbearer of this Strong Country.
