My name is Luis and I am Colombian citizen! I was born in Evanston , Ill. and I came to China with my parents when I was 3 months old. I attend a local Chinese Middle school , I am in 8th grade. I can speak fluently English, Chinese and Spanish. I love China, this has been my World all these years! I love Chinese food; I enjoyed very much all my Chinese friends with which I play and talk all the time. I have been to many beautiful places in China and I hope to visit even more interesting sites in the future. At school I am good in mathematics and my favorite subject is P.E.. I would love to participate in the Beijing Olympics, I do believe in World Citizenship and I think this is a good opportunity to promote brotherhood and unity between all the People's of the World.

Luis....I first met you father in 1988 on a trip to China. You and your Mother and Ping visited our home in Cresco, Iowa on your return trip to China. I had long encouraged your Father to return to his Homeland with his many talents. He shared me your success in a recent e-mail, though our contact is infrequent it means a great deal to me and my wife Mary Ellen. You are to be congratulated on being one of those chosen to carry the Olympic torch! Our visit to China in 1988 was precipitated by the 1988 Olymics held in Korea where my son Kirk was teaching English and the first Olympics that I and my wife Mary Ellen and two of our 3 children attended was in 1968 in Mexico City. We have always wanted to be a part of another Olympics and envy you this marvelous opportunity. Please give our best regards to your folks and sister Helen.
