China and Beijing have been my home for the last 13 years. My wife Shannon and I moved here in 1994, and since then our family has grown together with the city. Our children have learned much from their Chinese Nai Nai and life in the city. My wife has supported and invested in many businesses while being based at the World Bank IFC in Beijing. I have witnessed Beijing's transformation from industry to high tech during my transition from running an automotive parts business in Fengtai to investing in my own business in CBD to presently operating a finance technology business in Haidian. The spirit and energy of Beijing continue to excite us. Finally, I have had the honor to run 3 Beijing marathons and witness the generous support of the Beijing people as we sweated through the race. I would consider it an honor to carry the Olympic torch as a representative of the foreign community and a citizen of Beijing.
